ArtWorks aren't just about art and work placements. Not only do we offer a variety of creative sessions but we also provide activities to help promote independence, health and wellbeing.
Swim and Gym
In partnership with Stocksbridge Leisure Centre, we offer swim and gym sessions to all that attend ArtWorks. From aqua aerobics to football the day offers a variety of activities to help keep active. Rotherham session coming soon!

Day Trips
Social Activities
Sometimes it's nice to relax and take part in a variety of social activities. Whether it's a trip to the bowling alley, bike riding in the park, playing pool at the pub, footgolf at the driving range or a trip to the cinema, we all like to hang out and have fun.
Nights Out
Each year ArtWorks offers a respite break to all our artists. An action-packed five days fully supported by the ArtWorks team to various places within the UK. Some of our artists don't get the chance to go on holiday so this is a perfect opportunity to ensure that everyone gets a break.
Respite Holiday
Our artists are great performers and love to be centre stage. We run a variety of fun drama sessions and have most recently been working on The Gruffalo which will be going on tour soon. We make all our own props too!
Drama
Dance
We have an amazing professional dance teacher, Julia who comes in each week to run a dance class. Anything from breakdancing to belly dancing, these sessions are so much fun and full of energy.
We have a dedicated Life Skills leader who runs cooking sessions to those who want to become more independent within the kitchen. We also offer Level One Food Hygiene training to those interested in our work placement at The Local Theatre Cafe.

Life Skills
We believe that everyone that attends ArtWorks should be supported to become as independent as possible. This is why we offer a variety of life skills activities from shopping, money management, independent travel and staying safe in the community.
Special Outings
Our artists are always coming up with fun ideas for us to try. We value their ideas and think the range of activities they come up with enhance the service we provide. From indoor rock climbing to afternoon tea, trampolining, escape rooms, making our very own chocolate, you name it we've done it.
Walking Group
Team Games
We offer a walking group to support a variety of levels and needs. Whether it's a stroll around a country park to a hike up a hill in the Peak District we've got it covered.
We love playing different games and sports at ArtWorks. We are also open to new suggestions and ideas for things to play. Some of our favourites are Boccia, Rounders, Cricket and Football.
